MySpace News: New Social Bookmarking Kid On The Block

MySpace News: New Social Bookmarking Kid On The Block

It seems that social networking giant, MySpace, is hoping to jump aboard the social bookmarking bandwagon and unleash its very own news aggregator similar to that of the one found on Digg.

MySpace News, like Digg, will rely upon news articles to be submitted by the MySpace community and voted on accordingly in order for articles to be promoted and reach front page status. I have included the possible feature list below - which was quoted by reliable social networking news, Mashable.

MySpace News takes News to a whole new level by dynamically aggregating real-time news and blogs from top sites around the Web.

  • Create focused, topical news pages that users can interact and engage with throughout their day
  • Rate and comment on every news item that comes through the system
  • Submit stories they think are cool and even author pieces from their MySpace blog
  • MySpace users previously had to leave the site to find comprehensive news, gossip, sporting news, etc. With MySpace News, we bring the news to them!

We’ll have to wait until the summer season before MySpace will be ready to launch their new MySpace News system but I’m personally really looking forward to seeing what the MySpace team can come up with.
